Jose Gonzalez and (No)MAS! Tour: Movement and Solidarity Tour for Ethnic Studies
Thursday, 06 December, 2012 | 06:00 PM - 08:00 PM
Come see Jose Gonzalez, Thursday December 6th, 6:00-8:00 in the Crossroads Center, presented by Liza Yorke's senior project. Jose Gonzalez was a teacher in Tucson's Mexican American Studies program before it was dismantled. He and his colleagues of the program have been touring the nation to raise awareness about HB2281, the law that banned ethnic studies in Arizona, and to fundraise for the related legal defenses. In addition to these topics Jose will be showing us how community members can support the movement and how and why we should emulate rather than eliminate Tucson's Mexican American Studies program. This event is free and open to Prescott College and Prescott community members. Light refreshments will be provided. For more information contact Liza Yorke at eyorke@prescott.edu
